Studio Research

In studio I was given the topic 'Social Networks which compare power usage' to research. I found the following online:
Consumer Power Switch gives the viewer tips on how to save power, compares price trends of main cities, includes a savings calculator and gives information about different power providers. Although it is not a social networking site, it contains very useful information about ways of saving.

Wel Electricity is a social networking site where the user creates a profile, can invite friends/family and can set themselves goals. This website is also interlinked with facebook and twitter so the users can share all about their energy savings. The page compares your houses power consumption to others.

EnergyWiz is a cellphone based application that the user connects to there smart meter at home. They can compare there results with friends, family and facebook. This application is available at your fingertips.

There were many other websites around but these three were the ones that seemed to have the best design to them. Some of the others were not appealing and just seemed to be difficult to navigate.
